56 billion land animals world wide are killed every year for food consumption.

Greenhouse Gases

Livestock and their byproducts account for at least 32,000 million tons of carbon dioxide, or 51% of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.

Emissions for agriculture is expected to increase 80% by 2050.

Cows produce 150 billion gallons of methane per day.

Water

It takes 660 gallons of water to produce one cheese burger.

It takes 1000 gallons of water to produce 1 gallon of milk.

Agriculture is responsible for 80-90% of total water consumption.

Land

Live stock occupy 45% of earths total land.

Animal agriculture is the leading cause of species extinction, ocean dead zones, water pollution and habitat destruction.

Rainforest

Animal agriculture is responsible for 91% of amazon destruction.

1-2 acres of rainforest are cleared every second for animal agriculture.

Oceans

Scientists estimate that if we continue fishing at the rate we are, we will see fishless oceans by 2048.

As much as 40% of fish caught globally every year are discarded as by catch.

40-50 million sharks are killed per year as a result of the fishing industry.

 

FOR THE PEOPLE

We are currently growing enough food to feed 10 billion people.

82% of starving children live in countries where food is fed to animals, but the animals are eaten in western countries.

80% of antibiotics are fed to live stock.

 

FOR HEALTH

14 of the 15 top causes of death in the western world can be improved, prevented and reversed using a whole foods plant based diet.

If you eat meat, your chances of getting cancer are 1 in 2.

Dairy is so acidic that it extracts calcium phosphate out of the bones causing osteoporosis.

Meat contains steroids, antibiotics, bacteria and adrenaline.
